How to link another mobile with Primary WhatsApp

You may now use the same WhatsApp account on different phones at the same time, linking up to four devices with your primary phone. To maintain linked devices connected to your WhatsApp account, you must check in to your primary phone every 14 days.

Connect an Android companion phone to your Android or iPhone primary phone.

For Android

  1. Install WhatsApp on the Android phone you wish to link. Open WhatsApp and press the AGREE AND CONTINUE button.
  2. Tap More > Link to an existing account. You'll notice a QR code that has to be scanned with your primary phone.
  3. Launch WhatsApp on your primary device.
  4. Tap More options > Linked devices > Link a device on Android.

For iPhone

  1. Go to WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices > iPhone. Connect a Device.
  2. Unlock your primary phone by doing the following:
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions if your device supports biometric authentication.
  4. If biometric authentication is not set, you will be requested to enter the pin you use to unlock your phone.
  5. Scan the QR code for the Android companion phone with your primary phone.

Companion phones do not offer live location or add status functions.

If you do not use your primary phone for more than 14 days, your companion phones will be deactivated.

Successfully paired companion phones will display the message "This is a linked device." "Learn more" may be found in Settings.
