Chicken 65 Recipe

Chicken 65 is a popular Indian dish made with deep-fried chicken pieces that are marinated in a spicy and flavorful mixture of spices. Here is a recipe for making Chicken 65 at home:


Ingredients:


1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into small pieces

1 cup yogurt

2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

2 tbsp red chili powder

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp garam masala powder

Salt, to taste

Oil, for deep-frying

2 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 tbsp lemon juice

1/4 cup chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions:


In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and salt.

Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.

In a separate bowl, mix together the cornstarch and all-purpose flour.

Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large pan over medium-high heat.

Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade and coat in the cornstarch-flour mixture.

Carefully add the chicken pieces to the hot oil and deep-fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Heat a pan over medium heat and add the lemon juice to the pan.

Add the fried chicken pieces to the pan and toss well to coat in the lemon juice.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.

Note: The recipe I've provided is one version of Chicken 65, there are many other variations of the recipe. Adjust the spices and the marination time as per your taste preference.
